I’ve completed Greenhouse version 2 in Roanoke (Version 1 with more construction details is here). It’s about twice the size as the Greenhouse on Stanhope with a 9’ x 9’ interior space and a 13’ ceiling at the front. I have started to run irrigation, but haven’t quite found the right placement for the endpoints. I do have a pump and a 55 gallon drum for a resevior, so I can easily fill the watering pail without leaving the greenhouse.

I’m still refining the heating solutions though, currently settling on three different types of heaters. Each has a different fuel type and each has different capabilities. As I write this (in mid December) we’re having a cold blast with 15 mph wind and 18 degrees F, which is a big test for the heating system. I need to keep the temperature above 50 degrees F for the plants to still be comfortable, but is dropping to 45 F in places while I troubleshoot.
